influence and making a difference

what is it about making a difference in another person's life. does it matter who this person is (e.g. family/friend/colleague?)? do you get to choose who are the people u are able to make a difference in their lives?

1. it is not good enough to finish well, it is ideal that you have friends and loved ones at the finishing line celebrating together

2. life is like a race, dun make any mistake and just cruise along. as soon as you make a mistake, you give others a chance to overtake and win over you.

some things that i gathered after watching the grand prix montreal in june. perhaps these are the things that i hold on to, not so much of the race teaching me those lessons, more of the race surfacing the lessons in me.
