The Best Time of My Life by Joe Kemp
It was June 15, and in two days I would be turning thirty. I was insecure about entering a new decade of my life and feared that my best years were now behind me. My daily routine included going to the gym for a workout before going to work.
Every morning I would see my friend Nicholas at the gym. He was seventy-nine years old and in terrific shape. As I greeted Nicholas on this particular day, he noticed I wasn’t full of my usual vitality and asked if there was anything wrong. I told him I was feeling anxious about turning thirty. I wondered how I would look back on my life once I reached Nicholas’s age, so I asked him, "What was the best time of your life?"
Without hesitation, Nicholas replied, "Well, Joe, this is my philosophical answer to your philosophical question:
"When I was a child in Austria and everything was taken care of for me and I was nurtured by my parents, that was the best time of my life.
"When I was going to school and learning the things I know today, that was the best time of my life.
"When I got my first job and had responsibilities and got paid for my efforts, that was the best time of my life.
"When I met my wife and fell in love, that was the best time of my life.
"The Second World War came, and my wife and I had to flee Austria to save our lives. When we were together and safe on a ship bound for North America, that was the best time of my life.
"When we came to Canada and started a family, that was the best time of my life.
"When I was a young father, watching my children grow up, that was the best time of my life.
"And now, Joe, I am seventy-nine years old. I have my health, I feel good and I am in love with my wife just as I was when we first met. This is the best time of my life."

Another crazy week coming to a close.
i think it is wonderful to think of God's grace.
i am back from SMAD and I really had a good time with David and Arun. i guess God has used me to touch their lives in one way or another.
the past week was filled with assignments and lab reports. revising for the test on sat. and suddenly i have no time at all to blog.
i blog because i love every moment of my life and i dun want to forget the wonderful moments cos every moment is wonderful. do read the entry on 'The best time of my life'.
i have to go study for my test on sat cos i want to do well this time.
oh yes... i spoke to ruth abt support raising for the CA trip, and she asked me for my news letter! yay~! Gigatt, attGig!

What a busy week it has been!
wow...
wow is the word.... a busy week is over...
the start of the week was bad cos i felt lethargic and energy-less. it only got better towards the weekend...
The coming week is also going to be packed with meetings in the evening, sm training, assignments to rush and concerts to attend. also got a test on sat to study for and perhaps a mentoring outing.
really pray that God will give me the strength to manage all these.
work is beginning to lag... i'll have less time to blog here but i hope that i will have the time... will have to keep things short.
i got my reassurance that c is not affiliated to anyone. really glad... dunno why?
ruby is getting on fine liao... i am really happy! thank God for the mercy and kindness...
the bash was good!
Hallellujah!

an eventful weekend...
many things happened over the weekend.
i went for the first meeting with my central asia team people and we went for the first mass traing together.
went for YA service followed by a gathering with nhss peeps at hooters at clarke quay, of all places!?? and we went to orchard cineleisure coffee club express after that... reached home at 3am.
went to church the next morning 10am, and went for lunch at taka with candida, we had sashimi... bought from taka supermarket. went to kino with her to buy some books and was abt to send her home when alvin called me... my sis quarrelled with him again...
have to drop candida at a busstop opp far east. went back to church to fetch rayson and went down to funan to find my sis.
didn't know what to do and went home after we couldn't find her... fell asleep on the sofa...
awoken at abt 6pm by my mother asking me to send her to alvin's place, ruby is emotionally unstable again...
smsed my close friends and jolene to be my prayer warriors while mother went up to fetch her home... its was fine... quite a peaceful departure from alvins place, and i guess it was it... i was feeling sad but i didn't know it until i hear my sister sob... i realised how hurt i was also... tried as hard as i could but tears swell in my eyes...
learnt a lot over the weekend again...
God grant me the grace and mercy as You always do... i know that You are in control... and You'll always have the best plans for us! in Jesus's name, Amen...
